Hi·Hekaté is a retreat centre where our invited healers, therapists and scholars have been carefully selected over many years. They bring rich cultural and medicinal heritage, time honoured rituals and practices often times from far reaching ancestral lineage to the healing process. They share scholarly knowledge and wisdom from different areas of sciences.

We are deeply committed to our guests healing journeys and passionate about our work, ensuring that every person who comes to Hi·Hekaté is taken care of with high level of attention, and receives experienced counsel when desired or necessary. All of our seminars, meditations, and rituals held in a compassionate and caring environment all the way through the healing, understanding, and integration process.

Hekaté, our goddess namesake is a godess with a great power. She has free passage between the underworld, mid and upper realms, she is capable of connecting the land of the living and the dead, the visible and the invisible. While she navigates these dimensions with ease and courage – even while descending into the underworld – she keeps her eyes set on light.

Humans and gods fear and admire her at the same time, as she provides support and passes judgement as she pleases, out of free will.

Zeus holds an exceptional place for her: he does not pursue her with his expropriating love (as he does with almost everyone else), but respects Hekaté’s power, knowledge and wisdom. The godess is his moral compass, he makes no important decision without her.

Referring to the three dimensions, she is portrayed with three bodies or with three faces, often accompanied by the Moon, but animals, wolves, eagles also appears with her. Sometimes you see Hekaté with black dogs, where these faithful yet menacing creatures symbolise tamed instincts.

The three dimensions are not only aimed upwards and downwards, but she also represents the correlations and passages between past, present and future, in the linear flow of human life. She is the godess of triple junctions, the supporter of defining life-decisions and cyclical changes.

She helps with the letting go of the old and experiencing rebirth. In the sky she is the godess of the Moon, on The Earth she is the protector of birth and youth, while in the Underwold she is the governor of mystical powers, who acts through the quality of the wise woman.

Hekaté’s connection to number three shows up again when we tell the story of why HI was added to our name, what these two letters encapsulate: for one, it stands for a contemporary greeting of the godess, in part it is there, because we we would like Hekaté to receive the rightful honor and high esteem that she deserves in our lives, and in part because those who visit us experience all kinds of HI’s both in a physical and spiritual sense.

With this place and it’s ethos we aim to evoke her holding, supportive and encouraging powers.

Special thanks to all the creators and supporters of Hi·Hekaté.To the architect, interior designer, construction company, graphic designer, web programmer, and also to the friends, family members, believers, hope bringers. Without them this idea wouldn’t not have formed into reality.
